On June 6, 2023, the launching ceremony of the Steering Committee of the International Carbon Materials Union (ICMU) was held at the 5th Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Graphene Conference.

Vladimir Falko, Director of the National Graphene Research Institute (NGI), Antonio Correia, Chairman of the 2023 Graphene Conference, Manchester, UK, Thoroh de Souza, Chair of Graphene and Nanomaterials Research Center- Brazil, Denis Koltsov, Chair of ISO Technical Committee 229 (ISO TC/229, Nanotechnology), and Matt Walker, Former official of the UK Department for International Trade, warmly congratulated the establishment of the Steering Committee of  ICMU by online video.

 

The union aims to craft an open, forward-looking platform for carbon material technology and industry, as well as international exchange. The members of the union will cover authoritative scientific research institutions, industrialization leading enterprises, science and technology industrialization service institutions, third-party testing or evaluation institutions and other leading business entities with technical advantages in the field of carbon materials in the world represented by graphene; Union members from different countries will achieve mutual benefit and win-win results in intellectual property rights, standard formulation, market expansion, etc., and jointly promote the transformation of science and technology industry in the field of carbon materials; The Union will set up several branches in many countries around the world to provide members with financial, technical, intellectual property, legal, market development and other services to assist member enterprises to grow fast.
